Tennis Guidelines
Tennis Policies Regarding League Play
Team Roster Information
- All team captains (new or existing) should notify the Tennis Committee of their plans to register a team (USTA or ALTA) at least fourteen (14) days prior to the start of the registration period. This advanced notice will provide the HOA and the Tennis Committee with insight into the number of teams to determine if the facility has the capacity to support them. In the event the capacity is exceeded, all existing teams will have priority over any new teams.
- At least fourteen (14) days prior to the start of the first match, the captain will provide Sixes Management Group the team roster along with one check, made payable to Harmony on the Lakes, for all nonresident fees for their team. Additionally, a copy of the roster should be sent to the Tennis Committee at HarmonyTennisCommittee@gmail.com. If any players are added or removed after the initial roster was provided, the captain must send an updated roster to both parties.
Non-Residents
- The goal of HOTL teams should consist primarily of residents only. We understand that nonresidents may be required to complete a roster. These residential requirements apply to all ALTA and USTA teams.
- For “Peak Times” All leagues, teams, and levels will need to meet or exceed 50% residents.
- Exceptions will not be granted.
- Peak Times are defined as playing or practicing on Saturday, Sunday, or weekdays after 5pm
- For “Off Peak Times” All leagues, teams, and levels will need to meet or exceed 35% residents.
- Exceptions will not be granted.
- Off Peak Times are defined as playing or practicing during the weekday before 5pm
- All non-residents added to a Harmony team will pay $30 per competitive season to be on the team. This applies to all ALTA and USTA teams.
- Non-resident players on an ALTA/USTA approved team roster only have access to HOTL tennis courts for those ALTA/USTA team practices and matches.
Residents
- Residents who are not in good standing (delinquent in their dues or assessments) cannot be members of a HOTL tennis team; including, but not limited to, participation in any practices, at-home matches or away matches, including watching matches on HOTL property.
- Residents are expected to be provided equal or even preferential scheduling for matches compared to non-residents - Roster padding with residents who do not play will not be tolerated.
- Residents who relocate outside of HOTL assume non-resident status the season following the departure from the neighborhood.
Team Captains
- All captains must be Harmony residents; co-captains are not required to be a resident.
- Captains may register their ALTA / USTA matches up to 90 days in advance within Reserve My Court (RMC).
- Rosters that have not been submitted to HOA and the Tennis Committee are subject to removal and will not be granted access to Harmony facilities.
- Captains will collaborate with each other to ensure courts are shared equally.
- Within RMC, captains will schedule all team practices and other non-match activities no more than 7 days in advance. Captains cannot use their 90-day privileges to schedule non-match activity outside of the standard user 7-day window. If abused, all reservations will be removed, and your captain status will be revoked within RMC.
- Teams will be limited to two (2) courts per practice. If reserved courts are not needed, captains will remove their reservation(s).
